ClaroLingo lets your computer translate and speak any text in a wide range of languages making it the ideal tool for anyone who learns, teaches, or works with different languages. For the first time, anyone wishing to brush up on their language skills will be able to listen to any webpage, PDF, email, or Microsoft Word document out loud by a native speaker.
Difficult words and phrases are properly pronounced and understood. Building on the technology perfected for the popular ClaroRead literacy program, ClaroLingo uses a high-quality, human-sounding RealSpeak voices. The voice range covers popular languages such as Arabic, Mandarin, Spanish, and French, as well as harder to find options like French Canadian, Finnish and Czech. Students learning English have a choice of two British English voices, an American English and an Australian English voice.
ClaroLingo is closely integrated with MicrosoftWord and Internet Explorer. Using the toolbar that floats on the screen, students simply press play to start the readback, and can stop whenever they choose. With ClaroLingo’s customisable colour selection, words can also be highlighted and tracked as they are spoken. Writing skills will also be improved, as ClaroLingo clearly speaks back text as it is typed, letting a student hear and correct their mistakes, whilst improving speech and pronunciation skills.
Claro Software have teamed up with Harper Collins to offer over 16 comprehensive language dictionaries to the ClaroLingo user. Choices include Spanish, Polish, French and German. For English students, writing skills are also improved with the addition of an extensive homophone checker, which provides alternative choices for words that sound alike – and reads them back to you, ensuring you’ve got the right phrase.
